Direct Answer

StillMind is a meditation journal that uses AI to enhance reflection, not replace it. We designed, built, and shipped it for iOS and Android — combining mindful journaling with intelligent, personalised insights that surface patterns over time without feeling intrusive. It's live and well-reviewed on the App Store and Google Play.

The product principle throughout: AI should be a quiet companion, earning its place by making the experience better — surfacing patterns you'd miss and suggesting prompts when you're stuck — never demanding attention.

Finding the Gap

Meditation apps are crowded. Journaling apps are plentiful. But nothing effectively combined the two — a space for daily reflection enhanced by AI that learns from your patterns and provides meaningful insights without feeling intrusive or gimmicky.

The Solution

AI That Enhances, Not Dominates

We built StillMind — a meditation journal that uses AI to surface patterns, suggest prompts, and provide insights that deepen self-awareness. The AI enhances the journaling experience without dominating it.

The core design principle: AI should enhance self-reflection, not replace it. We designed the AI to be a thoughtful companion — surfacing patterns you might miss, suggesting prompts when you're stuck, and providing insights that feel earned rather than manufactured.

The Journey

From Concept to Launch

01

Identifying the Gap

We noticed something in the meditation space: apps either focused on guided meditation (passive) or simple journaling (text-only). The intersection — using AI to help people understand their inner patterns over time — was underserved. We saw an opportunity to create something genuinely useful.

02

AI That Serves, Not Dominates

The core design principle: AI should enhance self-reflection, not replace it. We designed the AI to be a thoughtful companion — surfacing patterns you might miss, suggesting prompts when you're stuck, and providing insights that feel earned rather than manufactured.

03

Building Incrementally

We built StillMind in iterations, testing each feature with real users. The AI capabilities evolved based on actual usage patterns — we didn't guess what users would want; we learned from how they actually used the app.

04

Real-World Validation

Launch day was just the beginning. We monitored user behaviour, gathered feedback, and iterated. The app improved continuously based on how people actually journaled, not how we assumed they would.

What We Built

Key Features

AI-Powered Insights

The AI analyses journal entries over time, identifying emotional patterns, recurring themes, and growth trends. Users see their progress visualised in ways that encourage continued practice.

Intelligent Prompts

When users are stuck, the AI suggests personalised prompts based on their journaling history. Not generic questions — prompts that connect to their specific journey.

Mindful Interface

The design itself encourages presence — minimal distractions, gentle animations, and a visual language that creates space for reflection.

Privacy-First Architecture

Journals are deeply personal. We built with privacy as a foundation, not an afterthought. User data stays private, and AI processing respects boundaries.

Insights

Lessons Learned

01

AI Should Be Invisible

The best AI features are ones users don't think about. When the AI just makes the experience better without demanding attention, you've done it right.

02

Test with Real Users Early

Our assumptions about how people would journal were often wrong. Real user data shaped the product more than our initial vision.

03

Iterate Continuously

Launch isn't the finish line. StillMind keeps improving based on usage patterns and feedback. The version today is significantly better than what we launched.

StillMind App Questions, Answered

What is StillMind?

StillMind is a meditation journal that pairs daily reflection with AI that learns from your patterns — surfacing themes, suggesting prompts, and showing progress over time. It is our own product, live on the App Store and Google Play.

How does the AI in StillMind work?

It works in the background. The AI analyses entries over time to surface emotional patterns and recurring themes, and suggests personalised prompts when you're stuck. The design principle is that AI should enhance self-reflection, not replace it — a quiet companion, not the main event.

Is journaling data kept private?

Yes. Journals are deeply personal, so privacy is a foundation, not an afterthought. User data stays private and AI processing respects clear boundaries.

How was StillMind built?

Incrementally, testing each feature with real users. The AI capabilities evolved from actual usage rather than assumptions, and the app keeps improving after launch based on how people genuinely journal.
