What is Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)?

GEO and AEO are two names for the same discipline: optimising so generative AI engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews — name you in their answers. “GEO” stresses the generative result; “Answer Engine Optimisation”, the term we use, stresses being the answer. Either way the work is the same: a clear entity model, structured and liftable content, and a citation harness that measures whether it lands.
